Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a scientific practice used to restore movement and function following injury or illness. Our physiotherapists specialise in musculoskeletal conditions such as:
• Back/neck pain
• Joint pain and/or injury
• Muscle strains
• Tendinitis
• Inflammatory conditions
• Tension headaches
• Sports injuries
A range of treatment options may be used dependant upon the injury including manual therapy techniques and exercise prescription; and we can ensure seamless referral between physiotherapist, personal trainer and/or rehab therapist. We can also refer you to a specialist should your injury require further investigation.

Our Physiotherapist is covered by most private medical insurance companies but we are not registered with BUPA or AXA PPP.

Sports Massage
Sports Massage is used remedially for both injury rehabilitation and prevention.  It is an intense massage session that works the muscles and connective tissue surrounding joints to help relieve musculo-skeletal pain and prevent and assist in the rehabilitation of injury. A combination of slow, intense strokes, frictions, trigger point release and myo-fascial release are used to ease muscle tension, break down adhesions between muscle fibres, and help prevent the formation of scar tissue at injury sites.

It particularly aids in the relief of:
- Muscle stiffness
- Soft tissue pain and/or injury
- Tendinitis
- Back Pain

Swedish Massage

This treatment is best given as a 1 hour full body massage for optimum relaxation, but treatments can be tailored to a 30 minute session. A variety of strokes are used, depending on the area of the body, which aim to:

- Improve blood circulation
- Stimulate the lymphatic system, thus increasing elimination of toxins and waste products from muscles
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Create a feeling of well-being and a relaxed body and mind

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a very effective way of easing stress and tension that builds up in muscles, tendons and surrounding fascia. These areas of tension often result following a period of repetitive physical activity, but may also occur as a result of the stresses and strains of everyday life. Deep tissue massage is deeper than a Swedish massage but not quite as intense or specific as a sports massage and uses slow, intense strokes and deep finger pressure or friction to ease stiff muscles.

Reflexology
Reflexologists look at the feet as a map of the entire body. Pressure is applied to specific areas of the feet (reflex points) to stimulate the corresponding organ or body structure: this encourages the natural flow of energy, and the body to start its natural healing process. With Reflexology we can help restore the balance within, which is the foundation for good health and well-being. It is a gentle yet powerful therapy that aims to treat the individual as a whole, taking into consideration not only the physical, but also the mental and emotional aspects of a person.

Reflexology can help with:
• Asthma
• Stress related problems such as IBS and insomnia
• Women’s health
• Depression & anxiety
• Blood circulation & elimination of toxins
• Strengthening the immune system
• Muscular injuries & joint problems

Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional therapy is a natural approach to restoring and maintaining optimal health through the use of diet, natural supplements and lifestyle changes. Nutritional therapy can benefit a multitude of health problems from allergies to IBS, fatigue to PMS, menopause to weight problems, and many more.

A nutrition consultation involves an in-depth analysis of your diet and alifestyle to determine how different factors may be influencing your health. Nutritional therapy recognises that everyone's needs are unique so your therapist will devise a nutrition programme that is tailored to your individual requirements. You will be given practical advice about food and cooking allowing you to easily incorporate any dietary recommendations into your life.
