PREGNANCY AND POSTNATAL

While keeping physically active during pregnancy can be very beneficial, we mustn’t forget that women may also go through a lot of changes; that is why it is so important to us at Integrated Core Exercise to prepare you for this by applying the most beneficial movement and mobility exercises that are tailored specially for you.

Why Us?

After having your first assessment with us and experiencing our expertise, you will very quickly realize that you are in very safe hands.

We will assess you using our 3D MAPS; a movement and performance system that is arguably one of the best in the world. This allows us to assess your stability, strength, and mobility in all 66 vital joint movements and give us the information that we need to create the right programme for you to prepare you to do things you like and will ultimately need to do during and after your pregnancy.

We understand the importance of the pelvic floor which is why we use the innovative exercise tool – PELVICORE PRO. This will enhance your pelvic core function, improve your mobility and strengthen your entire core.

We will not be looking for what you cannot do, but what you can do and where your successes lie.

The benefits of physical activity during pregnancy may:

Boost your mood and energy level
Reduce backache, constipation, bloating, and swelling
Improve circulation
Prevent excess weight gain
Help you to recover quicker post-birth
Reduce risk of having a C-section
Help you to have easier and shorter labour

When can you start exercising after birth?

After a natural birth, it is recommended to wait until after the 6- week postnatal check although you can do some pelvic core exercises such as Kegel.

If you had a more complicated delivery or a cesarean, your recovery time would be longer so it is recommended to 8 to10 weeks.
